Sabaki Estuary Wetsand Marathon

Hit the sand at the Estuary Marathon Malindi, a sunrise wet‑sand endurance race on Malindi, Sand Dunes Of Mamburui / Sabaki Estuary. Expect dunes, the river mouth and a beach route that finishes near the Malindi Marine Park.

Set for Saturday, 28 November 2026 at 6:00 AM, pick your challenge: the 10K, the 21K, or the 42K along the coast from the Sabaki estuary to the Malindi Marine Park, with tide aware sections and sweeping ocean views.

Organized by Progress Welfare Association of Malindi (PWAM), this inaugural wetsand event doubles as an environmental campaign, building on monthly cleanups and local conservation partnerships to tackle plastic pollution along the river and shore.
