About the performer
DJ Strain
Strain (Rahil Malde) was born and raised in Kenya and came up through the Cape Town night-time psytrance scene from 2008, holding residencies with Beartrap Productions and The Village SA. He's played at many outdoor festivals and shared the stage with a number of international DJs. He compiled the Compression Session series, and Compression Session V3: The War reached the top of the Beatport charts in 2019.
In 2022 he relaunched Replicant Records with co-founder Glacial. His sets move through deep psychedelic soundscapes and keep a strong night-time edge. Replicant records are now one of the top night-time psychedelic labels in the world with a potent international roster.
